Ecclesiastes 9:11 "The race is not always to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them ALL."

6/21/08 - Lanco

We hope everyone enjoyed facepainting night this past week at Lanco. It's great to see everyone supporting their favorite drivers by showing their colors!

We started the night with a make-up feature from May 17th. We started last on the field in 22nd place. The car held together for the first time all season and we managed a 17th place finish. Crossing the finish line with a running car was a relief as we have been plagued by motor problems.

The evening's regular show started us on the pole in our heat race. While battling for fourth we were forced to the inside of the front stretch by another car and spun out. We would end up 9th. A 3rd place finish in the consolation however would get us into the feature. In the feature we started 21st and just as we had all night we were fighting a car that was too hard on the right rear. We ended up coasting across the finish line in 17th with another blown O-ring as we came out of turn 4 on the last lap.

We will be at Lanco next Saturday the 28th Lord willing. However we have scratched the Path Valley show on June 30th. As much as we want to see our friends in Franklin County, a scheduling conflict will not allow us to be there. We hope to get out to a regular Friday night show at Path sometime in late July or August.

6/13/08 - Linda's

We made a last minute decision to attend Linda's in hopes of trouble shooting our recent motor problems. Warmups went well and we prepared for the heat. Starting 4th in our heat, we got the jump on the outside into 3rd place. While the leaders pulled away up front we were locked in a great battle with Dave Grube (3D). Dave ran a great race on the inside but we were able to hold him off and come home in 3rd place. We made the invert for the feature but because we didn't have any points we had to start 12th. On one of the restarts we contacted a spinning car . Thinking the car was okay we continued on, however it became appearant something was wrong. About 8 laps in we pulled off for a 21st place finish. Upon inspection in the pits we found a broken panhard bar mount caused us to be done for the evening.

5/17/08

Make your own cookie night was a big hit again and we hope everyone enjoyed the fun in the stands. A big thank you to Dick Huzzard and the folks from Grace and Truth Fellowship of Morgantown for their sponsorship and giveaways as well!
We had high hopes for the evening as we thought we had our fuel problems of the past few weeks resolved after warmups. Starting on the pole in our heat, we only got one lap in before an overheating problem locked us up in turn 4. We barely got the car together for the consi and we were still running hot but managed to make it to the chekered without blowing up to secure a spot in the feature. Rain came however and delayed a feature to a later date.
We will not be racing the Memorial Day open show but will return for the regular schedule on May 31st.

5/10/08

Having motor trouble in warmups, we were fortunate enough to have Mark Ewer generously offer us his backup motor for the evening. Starting on the pole in the heat we only got about four laps in before burning a piston. Finding a float problem, we fixed it for the feature. We started 17th on the field and would finish there as well when we burned another piston on lap 13.
A big thank you to Mark and his dad for their help and their generosity as well as Scott Gingrich for helping with the float.

5/3/08
Two features were on tap this week as a rain make-up from last week was put on the nights card and was the first event. We started 17th but 3 laps in our motor locked up and left us sitting in turn 3 ending our race early. We finished 18th.  We found a gasket leaking in the pits after the race.
Starting on the pole in our regular heat race for the evening we again went only 3 laps before the temperature went too high again ending our race. With some help from others we found a loose head nut causing our O rings to leak water into the piston. We took the green for the feature and parked the car for the night to prevent further damage. We finished 20th.
Look for an exciting announcement for the kids this week at Lanco and next week on the website. Don't forget make your own cookie night is coming in two weeks as well. See you at the "Clyde"!

We made wholesale changes to the car this week to try to get the car handling better. With the help of Mike Freed and Todd Steffy (thanks guys!) we got the car through the turns much better this week.
Starting on the pole in our heat we were running 3rd on lap 4 when the car shut off on its own. Once in the pits we discovered a partially blocked fuel filter had starved the motor for fuel and burned a hole in the piston.
With the help of Bryan and Clair Wise and Todd Steffy, Alan had plenty of time to have the car ready for the feature. As we pushed off to start the rains came and ended our evening.
We will have our make up feature next week May 3 so come on out and enjoy bonus racing! See you there.

It was great to see everyone back at the track this season. If we didn't get by to say hi this week be sure to stop by our trailer to chat this season. Also we encourage people to contact Shaun Brandel (#25--600's) as he is participating in a walk for autism awareness this Saturday April 26th and he could use your financial support. Email us if you need his contact info.
A new season brings excitement and expectations. A big thank you to VPE for their offseason help. They brought our car up to speed and it was obvious from the start of the action this season. A decent pill draw started us 4th in our 11 car heat race. We fought a loose in, tight out condition to a 7th place finish in the heat. The heads up start put us 13th in the feature. As we came around to complete lap one, another car jumped our left rear tire and tore our pipe off, ending our evening very early.
A special thank you this week to Mike Freed for his help with setup and also a HUGE thank you to Scott Gingrich. Without Scott we wouldn't have been able to pass tech and he is continually helpful whenever we have a need, always a phone call away. It is great to have competitors and friends who are so helpful. We praise the Lord for placing these friends in our lives.
We hope to see everyone next week Lord willing. Stop by and say hi!

A special thank you to Mark and Sallie Allshouse of Christian Lawyer Solutions for their help this offseason with expanding the ministry. They have helped us to become (as of Jan.1) a 501c3 non-profit organization. This will allow us to do even more within the ministry to reach out to those around us. We look forward to continuing to serve those we see every week along with hopefully some even further reaching benefits in the years to come. A link to their website is not yet posted because we are planning to revamp the site over the next two months, but you can see them at www.christianlawyersolutions.com.

We are looking to expand with new sponsors over the offseason as well. Please contact us if you are interested in being part of this ministry. We really can use your help in spreading the name of Jesus and the love and peace He offers to all.

We will be attending the Lanco banquet on November 17 Lord willing and look forward to seeing you there!
